Reading Palms
I like the feeling of lying in bed with a good book in my hands. Lately it’s been more just one, actually more like a handful of great books. I read for the sheer admiration of authors and their intricate minds. What inspires them to write?
Yes, I have asked this question to many of my mentors.
There have been several different responses. Too many in fact that my sleep deprived brain cannot seem to share with the blogging world.
I guess essentially, it comes down to the love of having control of words and the minds of the readers, allowing a sentence to link into a paragraph, a page, a chapter, and a crazy fantastic story. Writers take advantage of words for better or worst, allowing your minds be vulnerable to the next set of words. As readers, you can choose to close your eyes to these words or read further, but it’s to your discretion.
It is the difficult task when you’re the one with the pen and all that control.
Do you allow yourself to run with the wind or do you settled for the cozy cubicle type of job?
I’ve been poised this question time and time again when I have to describe my career path for my family and friends.
Why is it even important I spell out my life plans if I choose to be different? While I can easily see others who have chosen the convenient route go unharmed by these probing questions.
I am still fine tuning this crazy mess you call life, but at this very moment, I am happy with being a writer.
Maybe somewhere down the line when I decide to become domesticated and all, I will be different.
